Calendar of Events

Wednesday, May 25th: WOW - Wine of Wednesdays at Star Liquor
Come to Star Liquor on the first and last Wednesdays of the month for a free wine tasting between 4:00 and 7:00 pm. There will be specials on the wine being tasted and remember you can buy Star Liquor products and have them delivered by bike to your home for free!

Friday, May 27th: Beer Tasting at Star Liquor
Star Liquors weekly beer tasting every Friday between 4:00 and 7:00! Buying beer has never been this much fun. 

Friday Night: Valet Parking at Roman Candle
Serving you every Friday night.


Sunday, May 29th: Alternative Brat Fest at Orton Park

Come to club for this annual 18+ event with DJ Brook and DJ Kimm

May 1st - July 1st: Paintings by Greg Johnson at the Social Justice Center
1202 Williamson St
Join Greg to view his 11 Collage Paintings in Retrospect 2007-2011. On display in the Jackie Macaulay Gallery with an opening reception on Sunday, May 29th from 4:30pm to 9pm (food and beverages catered by Bon Appetit Cafe).

Wednesday, May 25th: Karaoke Wednesday! at Plan B 
Plus two more weeks until "Star Fruit" (a singing competition) starts May 18th. The top winners from each Karaoke Wednesday up until Fruit Fest will move on to compete on June 18th on the main stage at Fruit Fest!! So come out loud and proud for the gayest singing competition Madison has ever seen.

Kids Open Studio always happens Monday-Friday 3pm-5pm and all day Saturday.
    Summer Workshops at Midwest Clay Project:
    Kids Summer Programming: Fine Arts Workshops with Susan White
    Drawing, painting, printmaking,  clay, collage, 3D construction workshops - all summer long on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from June 13 - August 11.
    Two age groups: ages 5-8 and ages 9-12

    Clay in Hand:  A Morning for Homeschoolers
    A time for homeschool families to meet, and clay!

    Pre-register for this weekly group for a variety of fun and ambitious workshops.

    Teens Wheel - Throwing Open Studio
    This is a time is for youth (ages 11+) with lots, little or no experience on the potter’s wheel.  MCP Staff will be available for tips and tricks.  Gather a group of 5 or more for an instructional session for beginners! 
    Fridays 10:30 am - noon
    Fee: $15. per class drop-in
    Family Open Studio Friday Evenings
    Bring the whole family for an evening of fun at Midwest Clay Project.  Throughout the summer, we will have special projects as well as family open studio night on most Friday evenings.

    Friday, June 10th - Sunday, July 17th: "Myth America" at Broom Street Theater
    "Myth America"is a comedy that examines the American history that we have been taught and how it differs from the reality of what actually happened. A sort of comic version of The People's History of the United States. Performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm
    Ticket Prices: Friday and Saturday $9; Sunday $6

    Saturday, June 11th: Greener Wiener Fest at Willy Street Co-op
    The Greener Wiener returns! Join the Willy Street Co-op in our patio courtyard as they roast up locally-made hot dogs. They will add their own Deli side salad and a Sprecher root beer for a mere $5.
    As with all the Second Saturday barbecues in summer, proceeds will go to a local non-profit (to be named).
     
    Saturday, June 11th - Sunday, June 12th: Waterfront Festival at Yahara Place Park
    Ten bands of great variety and renown will perform over the course of the weekend.

    Saturday, July 9th: Move your Caboose 5k Run/Walk
    Register today http://www.active.com/running/madison-wi/move-your-caboose-5k-runwalk-2011 for the 5K Run/Walk and/or the Kid’s Challenge. Online and mail in registration is open until July 1st.  Race day registration will be from 8:30 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. (Please note that race day registrants may not receive T-shirts).  All the proceeds from this event will go towards a Scholarship Fund providing scholarships for low income families.
